2016's annual conference in Madrid
​The third annual conference of KIPEU was held in Madrid which is the capital of Spain.
The famous dish - paella - originates from Spain. Bullfighting in which courage of a man is tested is also famous in Spain. One can easily associate Spain with passion or emotion, but that's not all. For IP professional, it is also an important place.
Spain hosts EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) in one of its city, Alicante. EUIPO deals with all procedural tasks with respect to EU design and trademark.

On May 27, 2016, around 20 Korean IP professionals living in all around the world, particularly, in European states, gathered together in the city to deepen their understanding about European IP issues and their relationship. Some of the participants are in-house counsels, while the other work for a law firm or a patent firm.
At this year's conference, WIPS - the biggest IP search provider seated of south Korea - sponsered the conference. Three people of WIPS came a long way from Seoul to Madrid.

On this day, there was a in-depth discussion about how the KIPEU will be run in the future. Most of participants agreed that the organization will remain as non-profit light social gathering of Korean IP professionals.
